Paranoia is killing me
by FifthOfNovember inwhen i have "worldly" friends over i am constantly checking the window every time i hear something that even remotely sounds like a car door.. when i play violent video games i constantly pause the game and look out of the window every time i think i hear a car door.. when i go to the movies to see something rated r i always look around for witnesses.. if i suspect witnesses will show up i "witness-proof" the house.
i hide 10 out of the 12 x-box games i own.
erase the history on my desktop, laptop, ipad, and cell phone.

You don't need a to DA because that is only for baptised members . You are considered an unbaptised publisher . Once you stop going out in service and counting time you are no longer a publisher .

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENT FOR A AGONSTIC
by jam inthe dilemma; there is 70 or more family members.

I have been to services where the funeral director takes charge . He gave the basic facts about the person's life then turned it over to family and friends to say or share memories with the group . Nothing religious just a rememerance of the deceased.
That's what I want . A friend to stand up and speak about my life and to be remembered for the joys I had in life . No one knows what happens after we die ,and I don't feel the need to expound on theories at my funeral . A moment of silence will allow those in attendance that do have strong religious beliefs to pray .

MIB that is so depressing to hear . I am so sorry your wife has jumped back into another cult -like group . I can not fathom what I would do if this happened in my family .....at least your son is wise enough to see through the muck and won't be so easily enticed .
Is it because your wife missed the social or religious aspect in her life after JW's ? What made her lean towards Mormons ? I wonder if it had a familar feel and so she gravitated towards that as a comfort zone .
Right after I faded the Mormons stopped by here and I let them know I had just left one cult and was not interested in joining another .
Sometimes I miss the community feeling of belonging to a bigger group and cause ,but as time passes that feeling has lessesed greatly .
I hope you will find a way to co-exist in peace with this situation .

My Father in law (an Elder ) started a facebook account so his wife could keep up with pictures of family (mostly non Jw) and a few JW . On his birthday all the non JWs sent Happy Birthday wishes to him ! hahaha ,I thought it was hilarious . I posted a cartoon about older guys with their pants hiked up to their armpits making fun of teens with pants hanging low off their butts ...
....funny he never posts anything back .I am sure he just has the account so they can lurk .
Hope your sister comes around someday.

Mind Control on Dr. Phil
by brotherdan inusually i'm not into dr. phil at all.
but yesterday he had on dr. philip zimbardo from standford university on the show to talk about obedience to authority.
now the focus was on people doing bad and cruel things when obeying authority, but i could not help but see how many of the psychological issues also seemed to take place in jehovah's witnesses.. for example, a man was waiting outside the studio when a security gaurd walked up to the waiting man with a supposed thief.
